Notions: Threading a Needle

When threading a needle to begin sewing, make the thread twice as long as usual. Fold the thread in half and thread the resultant loop through the eye of the needle.

Pull the loop longer than the two loose ends. Take a stitch, thread the needle through the loop and pull tight.

Voila! a secure beginning to a seam with no fuss!
